We enjoyed visiting family and friends this past weekend in Salt Lake City and Provo. Great Grandma and Grandpa Miner got to see their first great-grand daughter and Brad and I enjoyed a trip out with Grandpa Miner to This is the Place Monument. It was quite cold on our trip up there, and Tyson was able to see his first snow. It was a little rough going from 90 plus degrees down in Arizona, to the 40's and 50's in Utah. I had fun making some winter caps for the kids during general conference, and both Elise and Tyson were able to put them to good use while up in Utah. We took family pictures in Provo with the Miner fam, and Elise and I were making trips back and forth between the outside and the car to defrost. We also had a lot of fun visiting with members of the ole' Provo Towne Center Wells Fargo co-workers. Although we had to stand around the barbecue grill to keep warm, it ended up being lots of fun. Tyson and Elise got to spend the afternoon with their Aunt Taryn and Aunt Syrell while Brad attended the BYU homecoming game. Tyson had a blast going through the Monte Bean Museum to see the stuffed animals. The kids did surprisingly well throughout the trip with sleeping and everything, but the plane ride home ended up being a total disaster. Oh well! You win some, you lose some!

Elise's Baby Blessing
We had such a special day with family and friends on Sunday for Elise's blessing. It was fun getting her all dressed up in white and getting to use Grammie's headband and Aunt Taryn's bracelet to complete the outfit. She looked truly angelic and was such a good baby throughout the day.
Tyson is getting to be such a good helper and loves to dote on his baby sister. Just the other day I walked in to find the baby had on one of my headbands that Tyson had decided she should wear. Elise is just starting to smile and coo, and I tried my best to capture some of those smiles on camera.

4th of July!
Tyson and Daddy spent the morning at Saguaro Lake with Papa and the Hulme cousins. Tyson got to ride on a tube for the first time, and had a blast! Elise and I stayed behind with Grammy and went to a 4th of July breakfast. Elise and Tyson are both growing so fast, and we are loving every minute of it. Elise made her first appearance at church on Sunday and she slept basically the entire time. I am still waiting for her to get hard, but so far she is an angel. Tyson's favorite pastimes right now are swimming and eating popsicles. His friend Brayden and him enjoyed eating popsicles outside the other day. I don't know why, but the heat does not seem to bother Tyson in the least. I think he would live all day outside if he could!

Elise Mae Miner is Here!
We are happy to announce the arrival of our new little baby girl Elise. She was born on Tuesday, June 3rd at 8:38 p.m. She was born with a full head of hair, which she has her dad to thank for that. She is adored by her older brother Tyson, and the only problem she has is that he might love her a little "too much" sometimes. So far her favorite two activities involve eating and sleeping, which her mom is very happy about. We feel so blessed to have two happy and healthy children, and are excited for what the future holds with a new little spirit added to our family.

Boston Pee Party!
Brad thought he was pretty clever coming up with the name the Boston Pee Party for our trip back east. Being about 8 months pregnant at the time of our trip made for quite the adventure. Now I am not one to usually get motion sickness on an airplane, but on our trip to and from Boston by plane, I almost threw up. We also got to know the location of just about every public restroom in the city of Boston, which I'm afraid can be hard to come by at times. We flew into Hartford, Connecticut and flew out of Providence, Rhode Island, so we got to visit quite a few states in the matter of days. We were able to stop in Concord and Lexington to see where the "shot heard round the world" was fired and also went to Salem and learned a little more about the witch trials. Our main travels were within the heart of Boston where we walked the Freedom Trail and saw famous sites such as Fenway Park, Bunker Hill and Paul Revere's house. We also made a stop in Plymouth to see a replica of the Mayflower and visit a reconstructed village of the original Plymouth colony. More than anything, I left with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for being born in this day and age where we enjoy modern conveniences, and also for those who gave their lives to the cause of freedom. Tyson may have had some hard feelings against us for abandoning him for a few days, but luckily he has a short memory. We brought him back a Boston Red Sox hat, which he wears on occasion if he is in the mood. Overall, it was a great trip and we were grateful for the time we had together to celebrate five years of wedded bliss!

Brad's Birthday!
Tyson had lots of fun helping daddy open his presents. We enjoyed partying with both sides of the family for Brad's birthday. Easter was also a lot of fun with Tyson at the walking stage. Although once he figured out there was candy in the eggs, he lost interest in finding more! We are excited to be leaving on a trip next week to Boston for a little getaway before the next baby is born. Since both Brad and I are history buffs, we are looking forward to seeing the historical sights in and around Boston.
